In the fourth quarter of 2024, the top navigation and maps apps on iOS in the United Arab Emirates showcased varying performance trends. Here's a closer look at their metrics, courtesy of Sensor Tower.

Google Maps

During this period, weekly downloads of Google Maps experienced a steady flow, with peaks reaching up to 17.3K in early December. The app's active users showed a general upward trend, starting at around 1.6M at the beginning of the quarter and climbing to over 1.8M by the end of December.

Waze Navigation & Live Traffic

Waze saw a gradual increase in weekly downloads, culminating in over 8K towards the end of the quarter. Active users fluctuated, starting at approximately 256K and closing at 252K, with a notable dip mid-quarter.

Yango Maps

Yango Maps experienced a dramatic rise in downloads, especially in mid-December, with numbers soaring to over 21K. Active user growth mirrored this trend, increasing from about 15K to nearly 23K by the quarter's end.

Google Earth

Google Earth maintained a consistent download rate throughout Q4, fluctuating around the 2K mark. Active users decreased over the quarter, starting at 22K and declining to approximately 18K by December.

2GIS: Offline Map & Navigation

2GIS showed steady downloads, reaching up to 1.7K in the final week. Active users saw a growth trend, beginning at around 30K and ending the quarter with a notable increase to 44.5K.
